Test the Parameterisation

  • The easiest way at this stage of the tutorial to test that your parameters are configured correctly, is to run a few Quick Run tests and check the response pages that are returned from the steps you have parameterised.  The responses should obviously show that the data being sent to the application is being varied.

  • If you find that the application is working but the values are not changing, check that the step has a parameter in place of the recorded literal.

  • If the parameter seems to be in the correct place, you can inspect the parameter definition by expanding the “Dynamic Data” node under the User Journey node in the navigation tree, and select the parameter.

  • The displayed properties screen will show the parameter’s configuration. If your parameter values were not being varied as you wanted, check that the Selector field is correctly set (you can click the Help button on the toolbar to get more information on the fields in this screen).
