Test Run Configuration Wizard

Create a Test Run Configuration

  • The Test Run Configuration wizard guides you through the process of configuring a TRC and allows you to gain access to all of the power of TRCs without the need to use complex configuration screens.

  • The wizard is started by navigating to the Run Components workspace, expanding the Run Configurations node and then selecting the application you wish to create a TRC for.

  • Then you can right-click on the node and choose “Run Configuration Wizard”.

  • Before executing the wizard, you should consider the test you wish to perform.  The following questions will help you to consider all aspects of the test:

      - Which application do you wish to test?
      - Which User Journeys will you include?
      - How will you split the load between the User Journeys?
      - Will the goal of the test to see how an application performs at a steady load, or do you want to increase the load during the test?
      - From which locations will you generate load?
      - Do you want different numbers of simulated users for different locations (ask yourself this question for every User Journey)?
      - If the test will ramp the load, how do you want load to ramp (ask yourself this for every User Journey at every location)?

  • This may seem a lot to consider! Don’t worry – the wizard will guide you through the process.
