Validating Application Responses

  • It is not uncommon for applications, that return the correct results under little load, to start to return incorrect or incomplete results under higher loads.

  • For this reason, it is highly recommended to ensure that StressTester™ is configured to check that application responses contain the data you would expect.

  • By default, for every request, StressTester™ verifies that their have been no HTTP transport errors, that the application response has not been truncated, and that the web server connection has not been prematurely closed (another common event when an application cannot handle the load applied to it).

  • In order to verify that the application response contains the correct data, you need to specify a value in the relevant step’s Validation Criteria field.
